An exceptional opera studies evening course for connoisseurs
For over three years, Divas & Scholars, a not for profit organisation, has offered Opera Study Days, Master Classes, opera parties and intimate lecture-recitals. We have now created an Opera Studies series which began in September 2015. The key events are ten evening seminars with live performances followed by dinners with illustrious speakers from the opera world at the Lansdowne Club. You can either enrol on the full series or just attend the events that interest you most.
The series offers the opportunity to meet and discuss opera with stars over dinner such as the internationally famous soprano and chatelaine of Glyndebourne, Danielle de Niese. We are delighted to be working in association with National Opera Studio who train some of the very best emerging opera singers. We introduce you to emerging opera singers who demonstrate their extraordinary vocal technique.
Whether you are new to the art form or are already an aficionado, there will be fascinating insights and performances to enjoy. Experts from the opera houses, conservatoires and broadcasting will inform and entertain you. You will learn about the music, the composers, the librettists and performance history as well as meet other connoisseurs. You will improve your listening skills and learn to analyse operatic performance. Our aim is to make attending opera a more informed pleasure.
We are proud to introduce and promote the opera stars of the future as well as provide a new platform and performance opportunities for young talent.
